Daily Bread Food Bank is one of Canada’s largest food banks, distributing millions of pounds of food each year to those in need while working to fight hunger and eradicate poverty.

Daily Bread’s mission is to collaborate with all to eliminate food insecurity, and advocate for solutions to end poverty.

In 2023-24, there were over 3.3 million client visits to Daily Bread member food programs, marking a 63% rise from the year prior. One in ten Torontonians currently rely on food banks, up from one in twenty last year. Daily Bread continues to see over 12,000 new client visits each month.

​

Due to the rising cost of living, thousands of families face an impossible choice: pay rent or buy food. Many of Daily Bread’s clients have just $6.67 per day left after housing expenses to cover all other essentials.

​

In their last fiscal year, Daily Bread distributed 38.39 million pounds of food across the city – a 37% increase from the year prior.
